/>Haskoning India advises on the whole package from the feasibility study to the supervision of management and maintenance. Starting with an integrated approach we are able to bring in experience of construction and geotechnology at an early stage of the project. From feasibility studies, general specifications, direction and supervision to management and maintenance, inspections and renovations, cost estimates and risk analyses. The Civil Structures business group can offer these services separately or as a complete package.
A piece of civil engineering is not a goal in itself, it supports solutions for problems of various natures. Bridges, viaducts etc. are solutions to bottlenecks in transport on land or water. Access is an important prerequisite for a sound economy. The Civil Structures & Geotechnology business group is actively involved in the structural design, project management, management and supervision of civil engineering works. For structural design we use 3D finite element modelling and the most up to date CAD software.
Global climate change also has implications for India. Lying as it does India is increasingly having to cope with higher river discharges combined with a rising sea level. Haskoning India has extensive experience of water management structures—from drainage sluices and shipping locks to pumping stations, settlement storage tanks and moveable barriers.
There are a great variety of embankments, ranging from huge quays for ocean-going vessels in the ports, to traditional brick-built structures in town centres. Soil-retaining structures have many applications, such as building excavations, sunken or raised roads, viaduct on- and off-ramps and small-scale town centre applications. Cost-conscious, sustainable design and risk control are what determine an effective and constructive design. An approach that integrates geotechnology and construction limits the risks on the interface between these two disciplines. We take an integrated and balanced approach to design and structural engineering, resulting in a good, sustainable and aesthetically sound solution.
The quality of our everyday surroundings needs to be preserved in spite of continually increasing mobility. Underground infrastructure is usually a good direction in which to look for a solution. Underground structures reduce problems of space and improve the quality of life at ground level.
