Goa Shipyard is a government owned yard carrying out building and repair of both naval and commercial vessels. The project involved the expansion and rebuilding of the existing shipyard to greatly improve productivity for new building of steel vessels, repair of steel vessels and construction of fibre-glass vessels.
The new facilities include a shiplift with a nominal lift capacity of six thousand tonnes and a platform 120m long x 25m wide, a number of large industrial workshop buildings, including steel assembly workshops, outfit workshops and steel preparation shops, new land based construction and repair berths, outfit and repair piers for afloat berths, dredging work and renewal of yard road, drainage, mechanical and electrical services infrastructure systems.
Haskoning’s scope included preparation of Master Plan; Concept & Detailed Design; Preparation of Tender documents and provide project management services.
