As a part of global expansion plans, Essar Group has taken up the work for expansion of its steel production facilities at Hazira. Part of the scheme involved the deepening of the 7km long entrance channel. Essar Ports, Shipping & Logistics had requested Royal Haskoning to undertake related dredging study.
Scope of work
- Review of reports for Soil/Site investigation, modeling studies, environmental studies, Ship Simulation Studies
- Design of inner and outer Navigation Channel for Ship Size of 105,000 DWT (PIANC guidelines)
- Preliminary Design of reclamation bund
- Reclamation strategy and quantities (north + south reclamations)
- Numerical Modeling Studies to determine the sedimentation due to dredging of new navigation channel
- Dredging Strategy (28 million m³)
